This hour long self-paced journey to your inner rhythm was inspired by Yoga with added elements of follow the leader, the hokey pokey and good old rock n roll! A Rock Your Chakras class will leave you feeling energized, renewed and smiling.
A typical class lasts one hour. We begin with slow grounding warm up moves for the first chakra. Many of these are drawn from Yoga. Next we wake up the second chakra with lots of hip movement. The music is soulful and blusey. Then we move into some powerful faster third chakra moves accompanied by many music styles from African drumming to country and western. For the fourth chakra we open our hearts with circle dances and awareness of one another. As we move to the fifth chakra we kick it up a notch with some loud, rocking music that lends itself to singing along. Then we begin to take it down with an interpretive dance for the sixth chakra. Finally, we have cool down stretches and meditation for the seventh chakra.When you come to a Rock Your Chakras™ class leave the need to "get it right" home. Instructions are easy to follow and easier to cast aside. The only requirement is to honor your self and your body. No dance experience is necessary! Just dress comfortably, bring a willing spirit and the desire to move and have fun.
